Movie Night at the Farm

Remember a few weeks ago when I went to Silverton Farms for an outdoor cooking class, and bought those gorgeous heirloom tomatoes?

I mentioned that the farm would be hosting some upcoming events, so let me tell you about this fun little Friday night event in case you're local and looking for something different to do.

This Friday the owners are hosting the first ever (free!) movie night at the farm. There will be an outdoor "theater" where movie goers can relax on the lawn, watch Food, Inc. (the "must-see" documentary on corporate food production in the U.S., which I'm embarrassed to say I haven't actually seen yet), and nosh on organic popcorn and other treats. I love this idea!

Here are all the deets:

Where: Silverton Farms, 1520 Silverton Road, Toms River, NJ 08755
When: Friday, August 10th, 8:00 PM (movie starts at 8:30)
What: Like a drive-in movie without the radio static, and you actually get to sit outside under the stars
FOOD: Maureen, the healthy food instructor, will host an organic concession stand with popcorn and other goodies. You're also welcome to bring your own snacks.
To Bring: Blankets or chairs and anything else you want

Kids are welcome and the event is free. The owners may also open up the farm store for those of us who like to shop for organic veggies late night. You might snag yourself some of these...

No RSVP is needed - just show up! - but if you are definitely planning to come, give the owners a heads up so they know how many people to expect. You can either stop by the farm or call them at 732-244-2621.  Hope to see ya there!

  2. When I initially commented I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on whenever a comment is added I recieve four emails with the exact same comment.
Perhaps there is a means you are able to remove me from that service?
    Thanks a lot!
